Beautiful song
During this episode, the Doctor and Donna help to restore the Oods' telepathic song. At the end of the episode the Ood leader, Sigma, is saying goodbye to our heroes. This conversation happens:

Sigma: "We thank you Doctor-Donna, friends of Oodkind. And What of you now, will you stay? There is room in the song for you."

Doctor: "Oh I've, I've sort of got a song of my own, thanks."

Sigma: "I think your song must end soon."

Doctor: looking a bit disturbed by this last statement "Meaning?"

Sigma: "Every song must end."

And at this point ladies and gentleman, they played a few bars from "Doomsday." My heart just about leaped out of my chest. Did anyone else notice this?

Anyone? Bueller?

Yes, I did!

And I can't decide if it is a good or a bad thing.

I feel exactly the same way. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. *bites nails*

Well, I've decided it will be a good thing! (lol)
His travels (and his song) are ending. He's coming back home to Rose.
Sarahpie_is_good on April 19th, 2008 08:14 pm (UTC)
His travels had better not be ending! I'll be rightfully annoyed if that's the case.

Clearly this song ending business is related to Rose, or they'd have used different music.

But it didn't feel like an optimistic moment.

So I worry for Rose's safety. =/

If humans can become oods, what about humans becoming time lords (or ladies)?

I really hope not.

I think that the Doctor's song is about travelling. Remember "The stowaway"?
"I wonder how his journey ends"
He's coming home... and Rose will be there to welcome him.

That's a lovely, lovely thought and a wonderful idea. You should write a fic. :)

I'm going with a positive interpretation. I think it means the song of sorrow over losing Rose will end soon and they will be reunited.

I'm pretty sure the music wasn't doomsday, but Rose. I'm like 90% sure on that...if it makes you feel any better lol

*goes off to listen to make sure*

Sarah I'm hoping you get this here. My phone died, I'm sooo sorry. I tried really hard to find your number in our past emails but for the life of me I can't (not to mention I can't find the email from very recent where you sent the home number, otherwise I'd call da husband and get the number from him) I was gonna try and call you from another phone at least, but alas. I'll plug it in as soon as I get home, so feel free to call me a thousand times (seriously do) until I get there and plug it in and answer. I hope you have a safe and good flight!
