my first audition
Last month I went to see a production of Oklahoma done by the local amateur theater group. I enjoyed the show very much and was intrigued by the dancers in the production, as they looked to be on about the same level as I am ability wise.

So auditions for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat start tomorrow. I’m horrendously nervous. I haven’t danced for years, but I’d really like to start again. I’ve changed my mind about going a dozen times already. I’d really love to be a part of it and dance again.

*headdesk!* I just don’t want to embarrass myself.

You'll be fine. Don't worry about embarrassing yourself -- you'll either do well or you won't, and worrying about it too much will only make it more likely you'll do the latter despite your skill level. Certainly don't let yourself not do it because you're worried. I mean, if you do well, you get to be a part of a production and do something you love. :)

Plus, Joseph is a good show.

Break a leg! I'm sure you'll do great!

A bit of nervousness can sometimes be good just don't let it consume you. ^_^" Oh and sometimes I've learned, through a movie that I can't remember the title for at the moment *possibly Sister Act*, that yawning right before going on stage helps reduce the anxiety/nerves for a bit. ^_^"

Above all else have fun! :D
