A little bit of squee, and a lot of LJ pimpage
Okay, I'm really, really excited (and a bit nervous), because I just joined a Doctor/Rose fic challenge community called doctor_rose_las. Each week, the participants will write one short fic (100-1000 words) based on one, or two prompts. The prompts are given out on Monday, and the fics are due on Friday. Here’s the fun part though, it’s actually like a tournament. Every member of the comm. (even those not participating in the actually writing) gets to then vote on the fics. Every week someone will get eliminated until there is only “one author standing.” Goodness, it makes me feel like I’m on a game show.

Anyway, you can sign up to particpate here. Sign ups will close when they reach 25 participants, but you can still join the community so you can vote for your favorite stories. These fics will ONLY be posted here until the contest is over, so if you join, you will get to read lots of great stories before they are up anywhere else. The authors remain anonymous, and I’m certainly not going to tell anyone which one is mine, but I’d love it if the people on my f-list participated. At least then I’d know someone doing the voting liked my particular writing style. Plus, if you join, you’ll know right away when the next round is starting, and you can have a chance to sign up.

Hope to see you there!

P.S. Yes, I know I'm insane. I just hope I don't get voted out in the first round.

Sign-ups aren't closed! I'm putting a limit of 25 on participants; right now, I think we've got twelve. :)

Oops! Well that'll teach me to not read things carefully won't it? Okay, all fixed now.

If you promise to vote, I promise to get keep working on Return for Me. I'm actually hoping that this contest will help me work on my stories, because it will force me to write when I might not actually be inspired to. I'm hoping hat will teach me to be a bit more prolific. Besides, these stories have to be written during the week. I usually work on my other stuff on the weekends.
