So, as I predicted, I woke up feeling crappy again, only to have a miraculous recovery about twenty minutes before my doctor's appointment. Feeling much improved, I went anyway, because it was much too late to cancel. The Doctor on call (a very young, and surprisingly humorous man)promptly stated that while I most likely had a sinus infection, it was on it's last legs, and so he wasn't going to prescribe me any antibiotics.

He did prescribe me some heavy duty cough syrup, so that I can sleep tonight, rather than coughing my lungs up every time I go horizontal. That's good I suppose.

And while I'm exceedingly relieved grateful that I feel a lot better, I still feel a bit like a dumb ass for wasting both my time, and the doctor's.

That's always how it works out, isn't it? At least for me it does.

Hey, it wasn't a total loss. At least you got the cough medicine and hopefully a good night's sleep.

yeah, I the germs get scared of the doctors and just run away screaming. At least I'm not the only one this happens to.

And yes, I got a really great sleep last night thanks to the heavy duty cough syrup. The warning labels all over the bottle are a little disconcerting, but at leat it works. I think the only reason he gave me the stuff is because I've managed to bruise one of my back ribs from coughing all night. At least it wont get any worse now.

Thanks for your concern though. :)
