Honestly, this is my only opinion
A few years ago I didn't want David Tennant to be the Doctor. I loved Christopher Eccleston so much in the role that David looked like an ugly, skinny guy with an angular face and pointy nose. My opinion of him changed about thirty seconds into "The Christmas Invasion." Therefore I've decided to hold off any real judgments on Matt Smith until after I've seen him in his first complete episode.

However I do have one teeny tiny reservation about the Doctor being played by an actor my age. It's going to be rather awkward if they bring Jenny back.

Yes, exactly.

It's going to be rather awkward if they bring Jenny back.

Yeah, that'll be odd. Of course, it would've been awkward with Tennant too, just for different reasons. :)

LOL, I have actually thought of that. I'm sure they're professional enough to get over it though. Actually, now that I think about it, It would be nice if she was there for the regeneration. That way he has someone with him who cares about him and the audience doesn't have to start from scratch with a new Doctor AND a new companion.

I truly hope they don't bring Jenny back, for the reason you listed, as well as my own.

btw - my flat mate keeps questioning how I know someone in King of Prussia. I keep making up silly reasons. One day I'll post them and share ;)

I would love to hear these excuses if you are ever ready to share.

wow- this is an older post....

but here are some ridiculous things I've said to amuse both of us:

"well, back when I was a carnie..."

"I met my biological family...it was the real reason I moved to Pennsylvania. I found my Amish brethren."

"This letter contains a ransom. You need not bother with the details"

and finally...

"We are Doctor Who pen pals. She's really sweet."

Look, I have $.02 to offer!

Which is that I don't think the age thing is all that big a problem, since Jenny was artificially aged in the first place. It's not like she grew up with Ten or anything (ok, technically she did, but in the space of a commercial break).

But I do sort of wonder if they are going to keep reverse aging the Doctor until he's 13 as well as Thirteen.

And I still wish for David Morrissey.

Morrissey
Amen hallelujah to that, Ganeris! I was so letdown by the Christmas special. Oh well...maybe it's a gotcha. He turns into Matt Smith, goes "Aw hell no", then uses remaining energy to change into that nice man, Jackson Lake. If Romana can do it, so can he.
FYI I vote they bring in that girl from Extras (Maggie?) as Romana, while I'm wishing. That would be adorable.

Re: Matt Smith
*tacklehugs you*

Oo, Romana would be lovely, in pretty much any form.

They do seem to have a knack for finding talented actors, so I am willing to give Matt Smith a chance. I did watch an interview with him and he seems to have a good deal of personal charm, so it could all work out.

But please, can we cut his hair?
